Auckland Region

Since 2015 I live in Auckland, New Zealand. The city is surrounded by regional parks with rugged West Coast beaches, an abundance of waterfalls, and many hiking trails within a short drive of the city.

Auckland City

Known as the City of Sails, it is a challenge to take a landscape photo that doesn't feature water in Auckland.

Kawhia

Kawhia is a small fishing village in the West Coast, not far from Waitomo Caves. I grew up near there, and visited first when I was at High School to stay on the Marae (Maori village). If you dig amongst the sand at low tide you can bathe in warm water pools.

Raglan

Tucked away on the West Coast near Hamilton, Raglan has always held a special place in my heart. I used to drive out there as a teenager after school to watch the surfers, eat fish and chips, and wait for the sunset. These days I chase the sunset across the beach and rocks with my camera instead.

Rotorua

Volcanic wonderland in the east of the North Island, Rotorua is a fascinating place to explore.
